Are you a Senior BIM Manager, BIM Programme Manager, BIM Information Manager or equivalent with Infrastructure experience – ideally on multidiscipline rail projects (including Rail Systems) but would also be interested in other complex infrastructure projects – Highways, Nuclear, Defence etc and want to work on High Speed Two - the most complex and largest infrastructure project in Europe?
2 Senior BIM Information Managers are required to work for the Client Organisation (High Speed Two Ltd) responsible for the New High-Speed Rail project in the UK. The role is responsible for managing BIM & Digital Information on 2 or 3 of the Rail System Contracts reporting into the Lead BIM Information Manager. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and assurance of digital information provided by Rail Systems contractors and supply chain. You will manage and advise; Assuring risk, the quality of the digital information provided by Rail System contractors and associated supply chain. And then ensure the information is circulated properly and acted upon within High Speed Two
BIM Information Manager role is to ensure that the Principal Contractors & their supply chain (design consultants & Subcontractors) are fulfilling the contractual digital requirements on the project in terms of BIM, GIS & Asset Information. You will understand what good looks like in the implementation of Digital Requirements on a project and can unpick and highlight where there are inconsistencies or requirements are not met and be able to influence and advise the Principal Contractors (& their supply team) how to resolve issues and derisk the project.
Vitally important to the role is the ability to build good working relationships with the Principal Contractors and their supply chain along with the ability to successfully influence them to drive best practice and resolve issues and when necessary, have the commercial where withal to push back when contractors are not meeting their project requirements, protecting the project from excessive change requests.
Working Situation – HybridThe office location is Birmingham or London they operate a flexible hybrid working model with plans to be working 2 days a week from the office. Overall, this is a very flexible modern employer who cares about delivery not where you deliver from, however, if you wish to be based front the office more you can.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assuring Contractors BIM & Digital Engineering processes are fit for purpose, through review of BIM Execution Plans and conducting audits (Technical Assurance Reviews),
- Assure the digital information quality of the delivery plans (MIDP / MPDT, IDP),
- Assure BIM & Digital Engineering design data (Asset, CAD, GIS, Packaging domains) is submitted right first time, that it adheres to HS2 requirements and is fit for purpose through review of process and conduct spot checks on data quality in advance of key milestones, including IDR and submission for acceptance,
- Support to Contractors delivery of, and where necessary escalation of issues, for BIM improvement plans,
- Performance monitoring and reporting on delivery of HS2 BIM & Digital Engineering requirements through provision of timely and appropriate metrics,
- Leadership of and single point of contact within contract responsibility for all BIM & Digital Engineering design data activities, includes support to project managers and engineers to address Technical Queries and Requests for Information;
- Responsible for raising awareness, education and training on BIM & Digital Engineering and good information management of project staff within assigned contract area and as necessary, with Contractors,
- Deliver collaborative work with the central Digital Engineering team and especially Data Coordinators to provide data centric solutions to HS2 challenges, streamline processes and support assurance,
- Work collaboratively with the HS2 Digital Engineering team to identify and develop solutions, solve problems and support the project and its supply chain,

Require CriteriaLooking for a Senior BIM Manager, BIM Lead, BIM Programme Manager, Senior Information Manager or equivalent can come from a Client, Main Contractor or Consultant background with complex infrastructure project experience ideally Rail Infrastructure projects with exposure to rail systems (track or signalling or telecoms or OHL or Power etc) would however consider people with other complex infrastructure experience such as Nuclear, Highways, Defence, Power etc but must be able to demonstrate ability to learn new sectors / disciplines quickly.
Will have knowledge of the BIM Standards (ISO19650) and have implemented Digital Requirements on complex projects. Will have good knowledge of Digital Information disciplines (GIS, BIM, Asset Information Management). Strong digital system knowledge – Projectwise, MicroStation etc.
It is vitally important to be build successful working relationships, influence and engage with the supply chain – communicating effectively, advising but also to be commercially aware and protect HS2 and the taxpayer from change requests.
Skills:- Use of BIM/Information Management/digital data management tools, such as but not limited to ProjectWise, for the management and assurance of information (be that GIS, CAD, BIM or Asset),
- Communication skills – including providing responses to technical questions, requests for information; and communicating technical information to non-technical staff,
- Deliver training sessions for HS2 in respect of BIM, Digital Engineering and Information Management,
- Stakeholder management skills – including developing relationships through regular meetings, with HS2 colleagues especially Project Managers, Engineers and Technical Assurance; and Hs2 suppliers,
- Manage a varied high volume of demands responding to Contractors queries, formal submissions, plus HS2 Project Manager and Engineer queries,
- Apply project management and governance principles to delivery, especially in managing dependencies between deliverables often from different Suppliers.

Knowledge:
- BIM Standards - ISO 19650; a working knowledge of BIM Level 2 for legacy contract management.
- Ideally Knowledge of rail systems e.g. track, signalling, power S&C etc  - will consider other complex infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of Information Management discipline (GIS, BIM, Asset Information Management)

- Experience of BIM/Digital Engineering within an engineering or consultancy organisation or multi-disciplinary project,
- Experience of managing technical information in a complex environment.

- Experience of using BIM, GIS or Asset data to undertake analysis, provide solutions or improve processes,
- Experience of contributing to change management process, including advising on financial and time impact of change related to BIM, information management or digital data standards and processes.
